In 2011 Alberta Technologies Innovate Futures (AITF) took the first step towards making the GrowthWheel the common language across all innovation organizations within the Regional Innovation Network – a province-wide network comprised of educational, economic development, research and other organizations put together to develop and increase the innovation in small and medium sized companies in the province. This first step was the certification of 28 business advisors from the network.
In 2012 the process continues, as another 28 certified advisor joined in the month of February. This new batch of 28 advisors has now also become part of both the province-wide network in Alberta and the international network of GrowthWheel Certified Advisors in 10 countries.
